‘RANZ Barista Smackdown’ set to heat up Fine Food NZ 2016

Fine Food New Zealand is on the hunt to crown New Zealand’s top coffee pro in the RANZ Barista Smackdown competition. If you think your extraction is the best in the land, then head to www.restaurantnz.co.nz to register by Wednesday June 15.

The knockout competition will see New Zealand’s top baristas grind it out in a series of high adrenaline rounds on June 26 – 28 at Fine Food New Zealand thanks to the Restaurant Association of New Zealand, Mojo Coffee, Meadow Fresh and Vitasoy.

Adapted from a successful international format, the RANZ Barista Smackdown is now in its third year, proving that we kiwis take our coffee drinking very seriously.

This high adrenaline visual extravaganza with wild cards and challenges will separate the hopefuls from the masters in the quest to create the perfect coffee. Along with the accolade of Smackdown Champion, the winning barista will also receive $1000 cash and their registered cafe will receive a fabulous prize as well. Spot prizes will also be up for grabs.

Not only will the competition be incredibly fun and draw a wide audience, it is a fantastic opportunity for cafés and restaurants to lay claim to New Zealand’s top barista, adding their name to what organisers hope becomes a long, commended, list in many years to come.

Registrations for the Barista Smackdown close June 15 and spaces are limited, so if you, or someone you know has some talent on the machine, enter now!
