Karajoz was founded in 1997 by Derek Townsend, who was passionate about improving coffee in his pioneering Auckland cafes, Cafe Extreme and the original DKDs. Karajoz has won 30 International and NZ Awards for quality.

Having experience in both the development and management of cafes has taught us, a cafe will succeed in attracting a loyal customer base, by delivering a better tasting quality coffee.

Our beans come from the greatest producers in the world. We use top-of-the-line German roasters and a blending technique that creates a smooth and consistently balanced full-bodied coffee.

Karajoz cafes receive extensive training and support, social media support and advice and supply of top quality BFC Espresso Machines, Macap Grinders and Motta equipment all made in Italy.
